SUCRE - BOLIVIA
SURROUNDINGS
Castle of La Glorieta: This eclectic construction that
is characterized by the confused mixture of architectural styles,
among which Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicists and Mudejar
features can be appreciated, is located at only seven kilometers
from Sucre. The
idea of building a castle in the outskirts of the capital of Bolivia
was of the Princes of La Glorieta, Francisco Argandoña and
his wife Clotilde, at the end of the 19th century.
Prints of dinosaurs: more than 150 varieties of prints of
dinosaurs and near 5,000 prehistoric impressions can be appreciated
at only 5 kilometers from Sucre, in the vicinity of the National
Factory of Cement (FANCESA).
Tarabuco:
it is a refuge from the past at 65 kilometers from the city. The
residents of this town conserve their ancestral traditions and
continue using their typical clothes. Is
famous the handcrafts market of Sundays, in which they market
beautiful indigenous textiles. Here the travelers can visit the
colonial country property Kantunucchu, with its living rooms,
steeples and nostalgic corridors.
