There are many ways to move around in the cities. If you want to take a taxi, have in mind that the vehicles are not of yellow color and that they do not have taximeters. Prices have to be agreed with the driver, then it would be a good idea to double check the prices -in the hotel or with somebody you trust on- before hiring the service of a taxi.

Getting a taxi is quite simple. Identify them by the signs that are placed in the windshields and the black fringes painted in the doors. If you don’t want to take any risk just call one of the many companies of Radio Taxi. Rates are higher, but the unit will pick you up at the place you indicate them.

It also exists a service of collective. More economic than the taxis, these units -always automobiles- go only by certain routes. They can be recognized by the dancing flags of diverse colors on the front fender.

Also, a great number of buses and rural vans circulate all the way around the city, they cover certain routes and can be boarded in any corner. You just need to read the signs in the front part of the units or to listen the screams of the “boletero”, to know to which places they go.

Another alternative is to rent an automobile in the diverse agencies that exist in the cities. The service has a quite high rate, reason why, in many cases, it is more convenient to rent a taxi per hours.
